The KAL continues

Here is the Moss Grid Hand Towel - I'm making slow progress due to continued tangles. I finally fell victim to the absolute last resort (the one that was recommended by my mother who was enlisted to help with the untangling), breaking the yarn. I hate to fail, but the thrill of the challenge did not delight me any more. Plus I could not risk falling behind - this is a serious competition! My competitor is distracted with some footies, so I may be able to keep my lead. Or maybe I'm behind and she just hasn't posted yet...
And here's the other project on-going - the beginnings of a basket. This is my first project with hemp - it smells like a feed store. It's fairly stiff and not completely cooperative. I've been relegated to crochet outside only - it's a bit messy. And it tangles too.

Race results

My handsome SO completed his second road race last night. A calm pre-race shot:

In the drop down box, choose Moonlight 4 Miler Clydesdale-Athena) in his weight group - he's a Clydesdale.

And he's off to post-race ice cream. Okay, I just realized that he looks exactly the same in both shots - just a bit sweatier. Did I mention that he's part robot?

I mentioned socks in progress a few months ago. Here they are in service. Fun!

My neighbor suggested a knit-along! "What fun", I said! I got left behind on the last one, perhaps I can keep up this time. Or at least distract her so she stays behind. We are knitting the Moss Grid Hand Towel from Mason-Dixon Knitting book. Don't have the correct yarn - no worries! I'm using some cotton/something blend I found; she's using a version of Euroflax that is not the type indicated on the pattern. We did requisite gauge swatches.

Let the casting on begin!

This looks like a delightful project, however we decided it is a bit patterny for our taste. Here is the progress to date after much knitting and reknitting and requisite profanity:
